Data Analyst - Tier 1 Bank

My client, a Tier 1 Bank, Is looking for a Data Analyst to join the banks compliance function, on a permanent basis. This team are tasked with protecting the Bank by advising on ethical conduct, identifying regulatory solutions, safeguarding integrity and promoting a culture of compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prioritising data issues
  • Liaising with the Information Technology (IT) team, in regards to system issue resolutions for data issues
  • Providing data awareness training to Data Stewards, for root cause analysis and data process design
  • Facilitating improvement initiatives
  • Analysing data issues in response to failures
  • Providing root cause identification for data issues
  • Maintaining the data issue log
  • Maintaining the profile of Compliance Data Management and ensuring data awareness principles are understood across the function
  • Tracking relevant upstream system changes, via the controls established for the technology investment cycle and production changes
  • Maintaining the global trade coverage Matrix
  • Periodically reporting on Data Quality, track issues and standards breaches
  • Liaising with IT to ensure data is managed, as per data archival and retention guidelines
  • Liaising with IT to ensure data access requests are managed, as per procedures
  • Monitoring and ensuring the application of controls for the Compliance data hub, including ensuring all associated artefacts are up to date for example design models, Data Quality threshold materiality and data inventory
  • Providing data analysis
  • Producing Data Quality rules, metrics and reports

Key requirements:

  • A proven track-record of high calibre performance, in a data management environment demonstrating a disciplined approach
  • A proven knowledge of IT technical processes and IT implementations
  • The ability to perform analytical assessments of data-sets and information flows across an extensive range of business types and systems
  • Excellent communication skills both in writing and verbally, with the ability to influence stakeholders
  • Excellent presentation skills, including the ability to synthesise large amounts of information and provide concise messaging
  • The ability to work well under pressure and with a professional demeanour
  • An understanding of Relational Database and Structured Query Language (SQL) concepts
  • Regulatory knowledge with an awareness of current and pipelined regulations impacting investment banking (beneficial)
  • Experience of working in a financial institution, ideally within a compliance function (beneficial)
