Job Title: Real Time Artist (Unreal)
Reporting to: Visualisation manager on a day to day basis and ultimately to the Senior Partner.

Foster + Partners in house visualisation team specialising in film, animation, motion design, Real Time and digital content creation is seeking a game environment artist for their expanding team.

The Role

As Environment artist you will be responsible for all aspects of the Real Time workflow. You will be working on initial concept, creation of assets, modelling, texturing, lighting, collision creation and all in game interaction. Candidates must continuously strive to create games that have a strong sense of presence by bringing both a creative flare and technical knowledge. You will be mindful of memory, restrictions and design requirements.

  • You will be responsible for creating high quality environments.
  • Import architectural models and be responsible for the cleaning of these models.
  • Ensure polygon counts and texture sizes are fully optimised for the target platforms.
  • You will be responsible for creating and exporting the game and rendered sequence.
  • Participate in R&D of new techniques to implement into production pipeline.
  • Proactively seek feedback and collaborate with the production coordinator and heads of department.
  • Ensure that the environment style is consistent with the defined visual style for the game.
Quality, skills and experience required

2+ years experience in 2D and 3D production.
Proven track record working within the gaming or similar industry.
Superior 2D and 3D art skills.
Possess an in-depth knowledge of physically based materials.
Excellent compositional skills and all-around artistic expertise and flare.
Expertise in Maya/Max, Photoshop, or other technologies utilized in the production of game art.

Working knowledge or cry-engine and/or unreal essential.
Strong technical background with ability to grasp new programs and systems quickly.
Ability to work with a high degree of self-direction and motivation.
Programming skills, working knowledge of unity a bonus.
