Brief Outline: Estimator - £25,000 - £30,000 - Flintshire. We are working in partnership with one of the UK's leading Lift & Escalator Companies and we want to source an experienced, reliable and technically proficient ESTIMATOR to help the business secure more orders across their service offerings (installations, modernisation, maintenance contracts etc). The successful Estimator will work in partnership with the Sales and Marketing Team to produce quick and accurate quotations, tenders and sales documentation with a view to securing new work across the UK. About the Client: Established in 1988 to supply lift control systems to various lift companies across the UK, the company gradually developed in house expertise and produced a number of innovative solutions for the lift industry. Increasingly, the company was asked to provide lift installations, lift maintenance, servicing and repair services and by 2005 this has become the foremost service offering of the company. Benefits of this are passed to their clients in two ways: 1. Reduced lead times, so the lift has less down time 2. Reduced costs From the directors to the staff, they are passionate about their unique products and services and have the commitment to work tirelessly to meet the demands of their growing and satisfied customer base. They are seeking an experienced Estimator to help them drive the business even further forward, continuing their growth by securing new, long term service and repair contracts along with new installation and modernisation projects across the UK. About the Role: The key functions and responsibilities of the Estimator will include: Working closely with clients (these could include architects, main contractors, property owners, facilities management companies, etc) to determine specific project requirements and preferences before researching materials, equipment and labour costs for each individual project or contract. Collecting quotes from materials suppliers and sub-contractors Planning job timescales Assessing the levels of risk on a project by analysing company data, exchange rates and prices Using in house CLIK software package to prepare and submit quotations for work Working closely with the in-house marketing manager and helping with bids for new contracts Supporting buying activities Monitoring the stages of each project to ensure that costs are kept in line with forecasts Following up on quotations submitted to generate more income About the Candidate: He successful Estimator will not necessarily have extensive Lift/Elevator project experience but they will have a sound understanding of Mechanical or Electrical Estimating and a good background in a construction / engineering environment Candidates MUST have previous experience in a similar role and they will be expected to demonstrate previous success in their career history Candidate's should be IT proficient, have excellent commercial/mathematical skills and they should be confident and professional with their communication skills They should be ambitious, motivated by successful commercial performance and good team players - able to communicate with different departments and stakeholders (all of whom may have their own preferences and agendas). They should be persuasive, pay attention to detail and they MUST be good at planning and programming works in great detail Candidates from a similar industry sector will be considered - these will include HVAC, Mechanical and Electrical Installations, Interiors / Shop Fitting, Fire & Security, Main Contracting, Disabled Access / Hoists, Structural Engineering, Industrial Construction, and similar Candidates with some experience of the Lift/Escalator/Elevator Industry will naturally have an advantage but we are genuinely open minded and will consider all applications from experienced Estimators within a suitable industry sector Points of Appeal: Based in North Wales and surrounded by a great team of Lift Engineering, Sales and Project Support Staff, this is a chance to work with a fast growing Lift Contractor that offers all manner of services to the industry With contracts all over the UK, there is considerable opportunity for travel and the chance to develop a real in depth knowledge of the Lift Industry We are estimating a salary of £25,000-£30,000 but we will look at applications and weigh up each candidate's requirements according to their level of experience. If you can bring any added value skills, we will consider these accordingly The working conditions are 40 hours per week.
