Our Royston based client has a new opportunity for a Planner to join their Manufacturing Team. What You'll Be Doing: You'll ensure stock is available to meet customer service targets without building up excessive inventory Facilitating new product introductions from project BETA phase to fully integrating the product into manufacturing ensuring on time to marketplace and without shortages Understanding the forward looking sales forecast and creating a planned workload within the ERP system to meet that forecast across a range of company products. Assist with the review of team metrics Assist with the review of the planning metrics Assist with the review and capture of the planning teams' processes and procedures in line with company ISO system Action of Syteline housekeeping tasks and making sure it's kept up to date Produce 3 month rolling production plans Produce 12 month rolling capacity plans To implement the planning strategies within manufacturing Assist with the review and capture of the planning teams' processes and procedures in line with company ISO system Working with Build Partners that will deliver outsourced assemblies and assist Procurement with measuring and managing performance Work with Production and Stores to ensure inventory accuracy targets are met Assist with the creation and review of the team metrics and planning metrics You'll also provide routine support to the Planning Manager Timely implementation and closure of the ECO/JIRA change process Maintain standard operating procedures for all tasks performed Maintenance of Product Family Trees, BOMs and manufacturing structures, working with the Manufacturing Engineers and Design Team Timely creation and management of manufacturing/project/procurement/build partner schedules which support agreed forecasts and delivery target dates You'll ensure that manufacturing lead-time is realistic compared with materials availability Proactive expediting of shortages Assist supporting business functions through advice and problem solving You'll be proactive and in communication with internal customers (Production, Manufacturing, Engineering Managers) and other team members (Procurement/Stores and Design) Control the sequencing and priority of materials and services to be supplied to Build partners and manufacturing cells across a range of products Proactive working with Procurement to solve existing or anticipated material supply issues including storage capacity planning Ensure that unforeseen procurement delays do not impact manufacturing timescales Expert awareness of on-going manufacturing progress, and proactively manage issues and risks Assist the Senior Planner with the development and use of Syteline/ERP including writing supporting documentation What We're Looking For: GCSE (or equivalent) level Mathematics Previous experience of an MRP II or ERP system Planning in a technical environment within a high-tech engineering / manufacturing company Good knowledge of manufacturing processes Experience in materials management and production scheduling in manufacturing environment Proficient Microsoft Office user and experienced in MRP and database usage / management. Providing support to manufacturing/purchasing/project/marketing/order processing/ finance Policing of processes Working in a multi product, small to medium sized volumes, desktop through to large workstation sized units and associated consumables and spares Strategic / Analytical / Numerate Natural effective communicator (written and verbal) Effective problem solving skills Effective estimation and planning skills Bonus: American Production and Inventory Control Society Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Institute of Supply Chain Management Presentation skills Commercially astute This job was originally posted as
