Company Introduction Cosma Casting UK is an operating unit of Magna International, one of the world‘s premier global automotive suppliers. Cosma Casting UK are establishing a manufacturing facility on a green field site in Telford in the UK. For this new venture, we are looking for a Business Development Manager. Cosma Casting UK will specialise in high pressure die-casting that designs and builds medium to large aluminium die-cast automotive components . Job Introduction The Business Development (BD) Manager will be responsible for se t t ing the strategic direction of the division’ s commercial department in accordance with the Management Team and the General Manager , using a strong entrepreneurial approach . The BD Manager will pro-actively manage customer relations; directs and manages all aspects of the Division ’ s New Business activit i es, including but not limited to Sales and Marketing, Capital Approval, Customer Service, Quoting, and all negotiations with Customers. T he BD Manager insures that division meets all New Business targets as agreed with the General Manager and Group Office. The BD Manager is responsible for ensur ing that the Customer, People, and Investor goals are balanced and met. Major Responsibilities Actively manages the relationship with key OEMs With the management team, the BD Manger ensures that the Division ’ s business plan goals and objectives are met, as agreed with the General Manager. Conducts and coordinates financial, product, market, operational and related research to support strategic business planning and quoting . En sure s that all the Division ’ s goals for new customer projects are met and escalate s deviations to the General Manager. Performs specified data analysis and studies as requested, and develops and presents ad hoc reports in support of various initiatives, both external and internal. Manages the interface to Cosma Group Office related to new business quote capital approval and processes request in accordance with Cosma Standards . Maintains and manages quote models and associated customer assumptions . Prepares and participates in the Quarterly Review with Cosma. Supports manufacturing regarding all aspects of the commercial side of the business (SQA, Material, Engineer, etc.) Works closely with Engineering and Sales to secure profitable new business for the Division and being indispensable to our customer. Supports the organisation with data and data analysis. Continuously strengthens all systems to strive for excellence regarding all aspects of the business. Maintain s database of: quotation models, customer documentation and associated assumptions. Ensures compliance with all rules and regulations. Perform s other duties as required Essential Knowledge and Education University Educated in Business or Engineering related field. Strong background in financial analysis, cost accounting, budgeting and forecasting Strong background in information technology Strong background in program management/ global programs Essential Work Experience Proven track record of building lasting relationships with leading UK based OEMs on a commercial basis. Substantial experience in Automotive Manufacturing Successful track record of leading Commercial Negotiations . E xperience of working at a senior level Experience of launching and working within a ‘greenfield site’ environment Essential Skills and Competencies Excellent verbal and written communication skills English both spoken and written Able to work well with others; build and maintain positive Customer and Team Member relations Able to read, interpret and analyse Financial Statements Able to read, interpret and analyse Technical Drawings Good understanding of the automotive industry Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Excellent analytical skills Able to facilitate the development of a results orient at ed environment and set high standard for self and department Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, team members, suppliers and customers Proven ability to work efficiently in a fast paced and high ly demand ing environment Excellent record keeping skills Able to maintain confidentiality, and use discretion and tact Able to manage and schedule multiple priorities and meet deadlines Honest with high integrity Able to provide excellent leadership example, able to coach, motivate and build self-confidence within work Work Environment /Other information I nternational Business Travel can be expected.
