Marketing Director (Consumer Goods OTC - Baby, Healthcare/Food, Pharmacy) Head of UK Professional Marketing and Overseer of Europe (Germany, Turkey) and distributor/export markets and countries and France, Benelux and China (TBD) Job Purpose: By growing Health Care Professional recommendation to profitably recruit consumers into the company brands in the region and drive maximum life-time value from them whilst they are in their brand franchise. Reports to: Senior VP Global Healthcare Professional Marketing and Media Relations. Job type: full time, permanent Location – West Yorkshire area (Preferably office based although willing to consider those living in another part of UK plus there will be the need for travel mainly in the UK and Europe and occasionally further afield. Salary - A genuine competitive senior level salary (client willing to pay for the right person as this is a key hire) company benefit package and possible bonus scheme (tbd) N.B: All applications strictly through the recruitment agency ONLY Person specification and skill set: Ideally round 5-10 years medical marketing experience gained in the UK and experience in Europe A Medical marketing / Communications Diploma / Degree although not mandatory as experience has more importance High professional standing and reputation Eager to use professional knowledge and apply it at the cutting edge of commercial application Has worked within and ideally managed internal and external teams Has the vision and passion to gain thought leadership in the health professional community Ideally has clinical / scientific research experience or at least exposure to market research conducted among pregnant women / new mums Has specific knowledge of pregnancy and infant feeding products including bottle feeding. Experience in medical marketing, breastfeeding (not mandatory). Has reasonable commercial understanding and product marketing experience An articulate individual with good communication and presentation skills (both written and oral) Possibly although not essential to have experience publishing portfolio in professional journals in the UK and/or internationally Must also have good Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word skills A good problem solver with a positive, can-do attitude and lots of flexibility A team player who gets on well with colleagues and builds alliances Effective at managing time and priorities and can handle tight deadlines Can work well within an entrepreneurial environment without the constraints of a rigid corporate structure A friendly person Must have valid UK driving licence and a car insured for business use Job Description & Scope: Leadership: Day-to-day management of Professional Marketing Managers, Head of Marketing across region. Structured performance review and development of team across the region. With Regional Consumer Marketing Director, ownership of the One Region Business Plan (ORBP). European Regional Oversight of country and market HCP liaisons in accordance and close coordination with Global HCP strategy and oversight and direct responsibility for UK marketing and implementation plans including professional baby healthcare policies and best practices Insight: Deep understanding of shopper, channels and competitors across region; turning observations into actionable channel strategies. Channel Activity: Working with the Global Marketing Executive, Head of Marketing, Healthcare Professional Marketing Managers on the creation of the regions One Channel marketing plans, covering all of the global growth drivers. Create a nd manage compelling integrated health professional marketing programmes in the UK with tight budget control and focus on ROI Manage the external network of UK Company Professional Ambassadors and other potential employed Health professional Specific emphasis on breastfeeding, infant feeding, including bottle feeding for breastfed babies Give direction on product and thematic specific ground breaking scientific / professional research and compelling reviews of scientific publications Aid in the publishing in key relevant health professional journals and other publications Represent the company at health professional conferences and events Day to day contact with the UK health professional community and direct visits to hospitals and other healthcare venues Implement and assist in the development and dissemination of advertising and other promotional material to health professional audiences and conference organizers Maintain contact databases. Coordinate fulfilment of samples, collateral, and other related communications directly related to key products as necessary to media audiences. Create adaptable health professional marketing templates for international distributor markets and oversee the dissemination and communication of materials and tools to country and market HCP liaisons. Continuously improve ways of working and identify opportunities for working more effectively and streamlined. Collaborate with functional colleagues in all departments. Part of the One Marketing team, working together to create brand growth for the business. Where applicable manage or co-manage with the global management team all HCP liaisons within the region. Champion region across the business with all functions: finance, sales, marketing. Perform other marketing projects/tasks as per the business requirements. Geographic focus mainly the UK and EMEA Export region (as above) Other Health professional outreach and marketing tasks as required Innovation: Working with the Global Marketing Executive & Marketing Managers on the roll-out of innovation projects from the innovation pipeline across Europe/Americas. Learning: Measurement & evaluation of all regional channel activity and the reporting of this on a monthly & quarterly reporting basis, making recommendations to improve future activity. Own M&E across the region. Reporting: Based on monthly and quarterly reports from the Head of Consumer Marketing and Healthcare Professional Marketing Managers, produce a regional monthly and quarterly report and give input into the One Global planning process ensuring plans will work in the region. Financial: Working with the Regional Professional Marketing Director on the delivery of the regional P&L. Management of regional A&P to budget with a rigorous focus on ROI. Key Success Metrics : Delivery of One Region Business Plan (ORPB). Regional Financials - Sales, A&P, Contribution & Profit. Share-growth versus competitors in region.
