The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate a minimum of two years’ experience in a quality assurance role within a mechanical, electrical or electronic manufacturing business. The Position: The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all products shipped meet and exceed customer expectations, principally involving: Reading mechanical drawings and interpreting requirements Testing first offs and final batches of cable harnesses and mechanical assemblies Conducting first and final visual inspections of the cable harnesses and mechanical assemblies Inspection of light mechanical assemblies Use of continuity and Hipot testers Calibration of crimp and other tools commonly used in cable assembly business The Candidate: Applicants will be expected to demonstrate: The ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical technical drawings and data sheets A good understanding of drawing tolerances The ability to visually inspect wires and cable assemblies (soldered joints, wire crimps etc) The ability to test cable harnesses using various cable testers, power suppliers, test jigs etc (training will be provided) Knowledge of IP/WHMA-A-620 Standard – Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies An understanding of calibration requirements Working knowledge of BS EN ISO9000:2000 The Company: A subcontract provider of specialist wiring harnesses, cable looms, box builds and sub-assemblies, our client has been manufacturing cable assemblies for over 30 years and has considerable expertise with a wide range of connector styles and customer requirements.
