The AV/VC Technician provides support and management of fully integrated conference rooms, boardrooms and large complex environments such as auditoriums. The AVT interfaces daily with the customer and acts as an extension of their team. His/her responsibilities generally include the operation and functional testing of all AV and integrated conference room components/equipment. General Responsibilities : Preventative maintenance to AV equipment Provide readily available telephone support in answering technical questions for equipment and systems Responsible for ensuring that the equipment serviced is safe for use and that the quality of work carried out is of the highest quality Installation and commissioning of Systems projects as required Exploiting any potential opportunities for service contracts that may arise through close relationships with clients Responsible for identifying defective/failed equipment and owns issues until resolved Works in cooperation with client and support teams to provide remediation Primary interface to manufacturers, developers, engineers and project managers in support of identifying and implementing resolutions for highly complex system issues Performs remote troubleshooting for local and regional offices Provides reports and adheres to service levels as agreed upon Perform any other actions and responsibilities as reasonably requested by direct supervisor or the Service Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required: Able to perform routine maintenance and problem diagnosis for projectors, microphones, speakers, amplifiers and LCD/Plasma Displays Ability to perform advanced AV related testing and troubleshooting Can read and utilise blue prints and audio/video flow diagrams Experience with TMS, Cisco/ Codian / Tandberg VC Infrastructure Basic Networking IP, DNS, Video Encoding Theory Ability to perform network troubleshooting to diagnose static and dynamic IP’s Knowledge of how to use audio mixing software Ability to gather and analyse system logs and settings for codecs, control systems, mixers and complex broadcast equipment as needed Previous experience of Digital and Streaming video Have good underpinning technical knowledge of Electronics, Audio Visual Systems and Video Conferencing.
