Category Manager - Technology - FTSE 100 - £55,000 Location: Central London Salary: £50,000-£55,000 Job Type: Permanent A FTSE 100 retailer is looking to expand its procurement function to cover a global market, making the UK procurement function a shining example for the other regions to follow. In this light they are investing heavily in technology and need a Category Manager for a subsidiary that deals in Smart Technology. The role will be situated within a Greenfield procurement department, so is the ideal place to go in and make an impact to the procurement function. The company in question run an extremely meritocratic environment, so as you continue to succeed within their function you will be rewarded with vertical movement. The Role: You will be supporting the North American procurement function, the areas of support will include the trial and launch of new smart products. This will will involve the purchasing of the supply chain elements required for this process and the procurement of logistical services to aid delivery of the product to North America from the Far East. You will also be required to be involved in the production, packaging and distribution and the procurement elements required in these processes. Key Skills and Qualifications of the Technology Category Manager: Experience within a technology start-up, or similar environment, is preferred, as is an involvement in Far East sourcing and a working knowledge of that market Previous experience in New Product Development, inclusive of the procurement of Supply Chain and Logistics services Awareness and ability to be positively disruptive and raise opportunities and call out failures with the long term goal to be the improvement of the overall procurement function First class interpersonal skills as you will be influencing key stakeholders and managing a team, with a key feature being resilience Relevant degree qualification (or equivalent) and CIPS or another similar business qualification This being such a Greenfield it is open for you to come in and shape the procurement function, and push to create a culture of best practice.
