The Opportunity: Support OpenText’s cloud based messaging platforms and production e-mail systems which includes proactively monitoring and managing the relevant domain names postmaster and abuse mail queues. You are great at: Based on delivery notifications and through other sources, proactively track, detect and help to resolve domains rejecting our traffic. Read and classify postmaster email which includes messages from email spam reporting services, messages from recipients complaining about Spam and delivery problems. Read and respond to abuse reports. Assist and help in identifying possible abuses of our anti-SPAM policy. Be the lead investigator of Spam complaints from both automated and human sources and work with both customers and in house Customer Service staff and/or other internal (ie. Operations, Sales, etc.) organizations in resolving SPAM issues. Work with ISP's to have our messaging platforms domain names whitelisted through Third Party Mail House agreements. Provide weekly and monthly status reports to management on various SPAM investigations and other postmaster related issues. Develop scripts and/or applications as needed and maintain existing scripts and applications used daily in automation of the corporate postmaster duties. Troubleshoot and resolve issues, interfacing with others as required. Stay informed on changes in technology and within the computer industry and keep current on security protocols, applicable laws and regulations. Use established methodologies and documented procedures to perform assigned tasks and keep work environment clean, secure and well-maintained. Manage work to meet milestones in accordance with the project plan and keep management and project managers informed of issues and status. Teach and coach others to enhance their technical skills, troubleshooting techniques and email management practices. Participate in short and long term projects where interaction with internal and external organizations/customers/vendors is required. What it takes: Required : Minimum three years working with or administering email and other internet related protocols (ie. Web and DNS). Core knowledge of SMTP, DNS and TCP/IP principles. Programming background in Shell, Perl and C desirable. Good Unix skills highly desirable. Preferred : Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3-5 years of related experience. Equivalent work related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. System/network security related experience would be a plus. Established technical problem solving and critical thinking skills, including the ability to think creatively to find solutions. Must be willing to work flexible hours as required by a 24x7 production environment. Ability to work well under stressful situations. Written, verbal and listening communication skills to write documentation and communicate with managers, customers and colleagues. Coordination, organization and teaming skills. Ability to produce high quality work in accordance with project timelines. Ability to see the big picture and quickly grasp and apply technical concepts.
