Baltic Training Service currently have an exciting opportunity for an individual with a passion for software development to join our Peterborough based client as an Apprentice Software Developer. Our client are specialists in lighting control and have experience in a range of automation, lighting control and energy management technologies. Through their ongoing innovations, they continue to define energy saving solutions for both large and small commercial applications; with major sports stadia being amongst their biggest clients. With a wealth of experience in commercial software development, including application development on Windows and Linux, they are currently seeking to expand their development team through an apprentice who is motivated and passionate about kick starting their career in the industry. Based in their Technical Office at Peterborough; it is easily accessible for local bus routes, with a bus stop just one minute walk away on Padholme Road East. Duties you will be involved in: Development, integration, installation and testing of new components for online software. Design testing strategies to ensure software quality. Propose new approaches, technologies and concepts for review to improve development capabilities. Documentation of technical work. The role will allow you to be involved in the technical design, development and delivery of various software projects and is an amazing opportunity to kick start your career in Software and Web Development, whilst earning a competitive weekly wage and studying towards a valuable and globally recognised qualification. Training to be provided: Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Software Development. Level 3 Diploma in ICT Professional Competence. Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Systems and Principles. Level 2 Functional Skills (English, Maths and ICT) Skills Required: Self-motivated. Problem solver. Organised, friendly and approachable. Good communication skills. Personal Qualities: Able to work as part of a team and on your own initiative. Attention to detail. Hardworking and motivated. Enthusiastic and willing to learn. Qualifications Required: Preferably 5 GCSEs (A-C) or equivalent/predicted. Passion for IT and Software Development.
