My client is a market leader in web trading technology and single-dealer platforms. It has award-winning software which enables its customers to build high-performance web trading apps and to deliver real-time information, including live prices, securely and reliably to those apps. I currently have an immediate vacancy for a mid level UX/Visual designer to work on a 6 month contract basis. The UX/Visual designer will be based in London to play a key role at the cutting edge of real-time rich Internet applications. You'll be working within the User Experience team, supporting the continuous improvements of their industry-leading products and creating ground-breaking UIs. The Role As the UX/Visual Designer you will: Bring proven (and innovative) methods for integrating User Experience design practices into Agile software development projects Work with both the product, professional services teams and clients to continually improve our UX design processes and deliverables Create wireframes/interaction designs for desktop and mobile applications Produce rapid, iterative prototypes Design and brand different versions of our applications' UI Originate new user interface concepts and models, as well as improving existing ones Contribute to the innovation of our products and processes Research and define ways to make our applications more intuitive and attractive About You You'll need to have: Strong people management and complex problem solving skills. Experience working with senior management to embed design throughout a company Experience working alongside clients to create appropriate user flows and designs A degree in a design-related subject and a background in visual or interaction design Experience/or an interest of creating wireframe designs and prototypes to realise design concepts A demonstrable passion for innovative and well-designed user interfaces An inquisitive nature and fanatical attention to detail Good communication skills and the personality to thrive in a demanding software development environment The experience, confidence and professionalism to liaise with clients directly to present and discuss your designs Experience of working within agile or lean development frameworks The ability to estimate tasks accurately and to manage your own time effectively Financial knowledge desirable but not necessary Experience of Adobe CS suite Knowledge of / interest in web technology, including an understanding of or experience in HTML / CSS This job was originally posted as
