Think Specialist Recruitment are pleased to be working with a leading provider of plumbing and heating solutions whose head office is based in Watford. In this role you will be responsible for a team of 4, providing technical advice, estimates and designs for the specialist products. We are seeking candidates with previous Team Leader/supervisory experience to lead this small team of 4 and ensure both individual and team performance as well as experience of working within the building services industry (plumbing, heating or climate control) with a technical background and understands the trade. Duties to include: Provide Design and Estimating support for customers, the merchant networks and Sales teams by completing quotes and estimates, which will constitute circa 60% of the day to day role. Demonstrate comprehensive understanding and experience of all market segments and technologies. Update and utilise the CRM system to ensure it contains accurate data relevant to your work activities at all times. Keep abreast of products, applications, standards and legislative aspects relevant to our business, and to pass on new knowledge and information to other technical staff about implications relating to our products/systems. Assist in ensuring technical accuracy of literature, including: fact sheets; wiring schematic drawings; installation details etc. Identify and realise every opportunity to raise the profile of the company within the construction industry. Assist in product review, development and harmonisation activities. Provide occasional project on-site assistance. To coordinate the activities of the D&E team to achieve targets as set by the business delivering the team KPI’s and the performance of their team members. Investigate customer complaints, approve free product cases if required. Liaise with the customers to provide a solution and ensure all decisions are recorded against the CRM project. Identify and/or deliver relevant coaching, training courses/programmes for you and your team members, systematically developing their skills and capabilities. Hold a short monthly team meeting in conjunction with the other D&E Team Leader to ensure consistency of message. Hold short bi-monthly 121 meetings with their direct reports. Conduct appraisals and development review meetings for their team members twice per annum. In conjunction with the other D&E Team Leader, take responsibility for the companies estimating, design and support software, processes, procedures and standards, with the view to improving accuracy and providing competitive advantage to our quotations. To liaise with departments on day to day operational issues, to find resolutions and to improve processes, using a Customer Centric Philosophy. Attend cross departmental meetings as appropriate to the role either to support the Head of Customer Support or in their own right. Giving a daily update to the Head of Customer Support regarding main successes and issues at the end of each working day. Complete a simple monthly report, in the format requested by the Head of Customer Support, adhering to report deadlines agreed. To conduct return to work interviews and monitor absence and sickness records and when a team member has triggered the business sickness procedure as defined within the company procedures manual, take the relevant action in conjunction with the HR team.
