Infrastructure Team Manager MBN Solutions are currently recruiting Infrastructure Team Managers for a leading out-sourcing service provider based in Slough. This infrastructure team is a small team of Server Engineers, Network Engineers, and Database Analysts who are responsible for the build, support and maintenance of underlying infrastructure for both internal systems and external clients. The ideal candidate will have strong background in Infrastructure Engineering and prior team lead/ management experience whilst still being hands-on and working closely with the engineering team. Key Experience: IT Team management experience Technical skill set in either networking or server engineering Working in an ITIL environment Self-motivated, proactive with a “can do attitude” Well-developed written and oral communication skills, including Visio Strong capabilities in following processes and documentation End user device / server support / SAN Database exposure (MS SQL/Oracle) Adaptable to change and new requirements Identifying training needs for staff Key Responsibilities: Monitor, respond and allocate infrastructure tickets in a timely manner and own the call to completion to ensure departmental KPI targets are achieved Ensure the team update the call logging system with user friendly comments and technical comments as needed, and, to a level that can be used for customer reporting Support the infrastructure including all aspects of the network and the server estate local to the Slough site, and at any remote sites connected to the Slough office Provide support and training to the other IT teams as and when needed to improve overall departmental performance Perform routine maintenance tasks regularly including patching activities Ensure proactive monitoring of systems and act accordingly to fix issues before they become incidents Ensure the creation and maintenance of infrastructure documentation & diagrams Ensure training needs are identified and the cross skilling of team members is an ongoing process Act as a project resource and be an active part of a project team owning assigned tasks and reporting back to project managers, as required Escalate any unusual or unexpected issues to management immediately Act as the leader and go to person for the team, managing their sickness, absence and holidays, with responsibility for their performance reviews A security clearance check via Disclosure Scotland is a requirement of the role.
