Senior Consultant (Rolling Stock) Type: Permanent Location: London Package: Competitive salary (amount depends on level of experience) benefits Core tasks of the role include: Overall management of rolling stock modifications (eg. ETCS integration) throughout the project life from survey to commissioning. Prepare project program, then monitor budgets, time scales and best use of resources. Lead the junior project engineers and efficiently obtain their support. Interpret existing drawings and wiring diagrams. In the event that diagrams are not available, reverse-engineer existing installations. Translate designs into specifications for on-vehicle modification and integration. Prepare test specifications and maintenance manuals. Participate in tests. Apply relevant standards and quality procedures. Remain up to date with standards. Liaise with stakeholders such as depots, suppliers, TOCS, ROSCOs, assessment bodies over the whole project life. Support the development of the rolling stock business, prepare bids. Skills and qualifications Previous hands-on experience of modifications in a maintenance depot or manufacturing environment. Experience in producing compliant and economic designs taking into account ease of installation. Degree in electrical or mechanical engineering Appreciation of the safety culture. Experience: > 5 years. Familiarity with certification, approvals, reliability, availability, maintainability and safety (RAMS), UK and European standards.
