Logistics & Freight Procurement Specialist - Globally expanding FTSE 250 - Milton Keynes - £45,000 - £55,000 Car Benefits This renowned business has recently warranted new investment due to their evolving procurement function. Renowned for their innovation, this company is looking to bolster their procurement function with the addition of a Logistics & Freight Category Procurement Specialist to source their logistics services. The successful candidate will possess commercial flair and excellent communication skills, as well as strong technical procurement experience within logistics and more specifically freight management. Leading the procurement for the Logistics category, you will be tasked with designing, implementing and executing sourcing strategies for road transportation, sea and air freight. You will liaise with 3PL providers on commercial aspects such as contracts negotiations, whilst building upon current relationships. Working with the wider business to educate them you will improve procurement buy in through credibility and delivering tangible savings. You will have the ability to identify opportunities for supplier consolidation whilst maintaining quality and improving business processes. Logistics & Freight Procurement Specialist Role Overview: Management of various front end procurement activities, including but not limited to: Evaluation of Suppliers, Management of the Tender Process, Market Research, Cooperating with stakeholder to establish selection criteria. Identify improvement opportunities within strategies and expenditure and subsequently develop and implement those improvements Management of key suppliers with an aim of consolidating the supplier base Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all policies and legislation relating to the market and suppliers Logistics & Freight Procurement Specialist Profile: Proven track record within a fast paced procurement environment, involving category specific strategies and successful influencing of stakeholders Results driven individual with an ability to influence across all levels of the business Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders as well as the wider supplier base Willingness to travel if necessary Degree educated, preferably with CIPS This is an excellent opportunity to join a renowned organisation and become an integral member of the procurement function.
