Elevation HR are currently recruiting for a HR Manager for a leading manufacturing business based in North Derbyshire. Supporting a site of c150 and reporting into the MD, this is an exciting opportunity for a progressive and capable HR Manager to make a strong contribution to the HR agenda as well as the business success. Ideally you'll already have experience of working within a manufacturing environment, so you'll understand the fast paced and often complex environment where no two days are the same, and you should have the ability to work effectively under pressure whilst handling conflicting issues. Whilst leading the HR agenda, the role will be a full member of the site leadership team. Reporting into the site MD and the HRVP based in the US, you will be expected to contribute at both a strategic and operational level in order to identify HR priorities and recommend appropriate people management solutions, in addition to providing a customer-focused HR service. As this is a standalone role the remit will be broad and there will be involvement across the business on a range of activities including HR administration and payroll changes. You should be able to clearly demonstrate a proactive approach and will play a key role in supporting management in the development and implementation of the site people strategy to help deliver the business objectives. In addition you should be highly flexible with a proactive and willing attitude to maximise the contribution of HR on the site. Using your initiative, you should have the ability to set & meet personal targets, combined with the flexibility to adjust to workload priorities. Specifically the role will involve: Providing direction to the business and managing performance to ensure that it meets and exceeds financial and strategic objectives Developing and promoting systems to ensure that an effective performance culture is maintained throughout the organisation Leading on the development of talent, skills and competences around the organisation by coaching line managers in best practice with regards to training and development Maintaining a structure of compensation and benefits and advising on overall organisational structures to ensure that employee motivation and loyalty is maintained Managing all recruitment activity to ensure that top quartile performers are consistently brought into the business in order to maximize long term business prospects Managing and controlling departmental expenditure within agreed budgets to meet stated strategic business forecasts and objectives Maintaining awareness and knowledge of UK employment legislation and provide suitable interpretation to directors, managers and employees Responsible for all HR Admin and systems as appropriate as well as overseeing payroll changes. Knowledge, skills and experience: MCIPD, Grad CIPD or time served in HR management positions - minimum 5 years Extensive background within a HR management role ideally from a manufacturing environment Proactive, organised and able to work flexibly to meet the needs of a busy manufacturing business Microsoft Office capability in Word, Excel and Power point Calm under pressure with an ability to challenge at all levels Comfortable with operating at both Executive Board level and supporting admin processes.
