Working closely with the Engineering Director and with the engineering team you will be involved in the design; from concept design to prototyping through to testing, commercialisation and full production. Main Duties and Responsibilities Research and analyse customer design proposals, specifications and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and requirements of designs and application Produce CAD drawings from design and manufacturing drawings Design and Redesign of Product Provide feasibility studies for product modifications and fully implement where justified Maintain awareness of problematic process areas and design out problem areas Responsibility for creating the dimensional drawings, main assembly drawings, and complete Bill of Materials for design Writing comprehensive reports, proposals for recommendations for checking and approval by head of department Design of production tooling and fixtures Collaboration with software suppliers on specification requirements Support the Engineering department, production department and quality department Working within and to the standards of registered approval bodies Oversee prototyping and testing of new product design Keeping informed of technical developments and industry expertise to identify potential improvements Continuous Improvement activities Develop innovative process solutions and processes for new products or processes Provide detailed technical reports, presentations and costing information to support projects Support the development of new products, technologies or business opportunities Required Skills and Experience HNC/HND qualification in Mechanical Engineering Mechanical Design experience Experienced of working with various CAD software Lean Manufacturing and Continuous improvement trained Understanding of SMED improvement techniques Desirable Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering Knowledge and design experience of pressure vessels and compliance to PED Knowledge, experience and development of NDT process for weld inspection Understanding and experience of CNC and Weld processes Experience of FEA and Stress Analysis calculations Six Sigma Trained and qualified Hours of work: Mon to Thurs 08.00am - 16.30 pm, Friday 08.00 am - 13.00 pm This job was originally posted as
