Our client is a successful and well established engineering business, founded in 1985, a leading designer and manufacturer of aluminium components. It offers design, in-house tooling, pressing, assembly as well as specialised service, guaranteeing the highest quality to the customer, as they offer a one-company process from design to delivery. Due to expansion, they are looking for a Health and Safety Office to join their busy team. The focus of this role is to perform tasks as laid out below Duties Undertake risk assessments. Identify potential risks/hazards. Determine ways of reducing risk. Writing internal health and safety policies. Compiling of statistical data. Investigate workplace accidents and near miss situations. Make workplace presentations to groups of employees. Keep accurate records. Chair health and safety committee meetings. Keep up to date with changes in current health and safety legislation. Compiling of cosh data sheets as and when required. Training of employees. Vet external contractors and issue permits to work. Undertake any other tasks/duties as may be reasonably required. Requirements Excellent communication skills. Team player. Ability to use own initiative. Must be IT literate and have good organisational skills To hold either NEBOSH or as a minimums IOSH Accreditation relevant to an engineering environment. Must have a proven track record in health and safety. Must have a manufacturing background. Strong decision making and a common sense approach.
