A leading multi-disciplinary consultancy offer a Senior Town Planner role Swindon Title: Senior Planner Salary: £30,000 to £35,000 p/a (Plus car / car allowance, bonus, healthcare, life assurance, pension etc.) Location: Swindon Do you have an RTPI accredited degree and hold MRTPI or are soon to? Are you experienced in leading small to medium scale projects? Do you want to advise on a wide portfolio of planning projects in the West Midlands & South West? This Senior Town Planner will require you to work on a wide variety of project work across multiple sectors including leading on small - medium scale projects. Joining a consultancy with offices throughout England and a large network of Planners the Senior Town Planner will join a medium sized team reporting to one of the Directors of Planning. The company specialise in the Residential and Regeneration, Town expansion, Retail, Renewable energy, Commercial, Rural and Heritage sectors. Key responsibilities include; -Taking new job enquiries and preparing fee proposals -Prepare and progress applications of varying sizes and complexities -Undertaking site assessments to establish development potential -Liaise with Local Authority officer's pre, during and post application -Prepare design and access statements alongside appeal statements where required -Attend planning committees to verbally represent the interests of clients -Attend community consultation exhibitions and events, as required -Take responsibility for written representations and assist in informal hearings and public inquiries Qualifications, experience and ability You will need to be able to work effectively as part of a team and possess excellent communications skills. You will hold MRTPI or be working towards it and have a relevant planning related qualification. Prior planning experience in the above mentioned areas is expected with strong negotiation skills and project management experience desirable. Naturally, you are to have a good understanding of current planning law.
