This is a permanent role based in Angel on a salary of £20K-£24K. The role of the data analyst is to work with the Product Manager to design and implement business critical reporting and analytics tools for internal and external use. This will include analysis of quantitative and qualitative data from a variety of sources, as well as identifying information that is of greatest value to the organisation and how it should be used. Key responsibilities of the role; Provide a range of data reports for internal and external use; both standard routine reports and occasional ad-hoc “one-off” reports as required. Acquire data from data sources (generally MySQL databases associated with our web platforms) and maintain Xenzone systems for managing data. Interpret data, analyse results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports for the management team. Liaise with internal team members to ensure that the correct information is used for each piece of work/report. Ensure information used in analysis is current, timely, quality assured and robust Leave a clear and concise audit trail that will be of use to others doing future analysis Draw appropriate attention to significant outcomes of analysis. Develop and implement data collection systems and other strategies that optimise statistical efficiency and data quality, working closely with the web development team . Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets to inform business research and developments. Think creatively in order to improve how quantitative and qualitative analysis is used in organisational activity. Be responsible for presenting conclusions gained from analysing data using a range of statistical tools. Must be an expert user of MS Excel and proficient on database & presentation software To design systems, processes and tools for analysing and interpreting data that are appropriate to the specific project being worked on Work closely with the Senior Management Team to prioritise business and information needs Write reports and present findings to a range of audiences Undertake any requests made by the Product Manager that are relevant to the post of Data Analyst. The ideal candidate’s personality and qualifications; A relevant professional qualification in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics. A genuine interest in mental health and helping people. Proven experience of working as a data analyst Organised, ‘can do’ attitude, team player Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques Understanding of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analysing large datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc). Querying MySQL datasets. Knowledge of reporting packages (Business Objects etc), and programming (XML, Javascript, or ETL frameworks is desirable but not essential.
