Engineering Apprentice - Urgently required. This company works in a niche market in the F1 industry making specialist parts. They work with a number of machines and are looking for a proactive person to join their small, highly skilled team. The right candidate will have an excellent opportunity to progress within the company. What is the company looking for? An apprentice from 16 to 18 plus. Someone who wants to learn. An enthusiastic individual who is hard working. A reliable person with good time keeping and attendance. Someone who wants to take on responsibility and learn from skilled people. What would the role entail? The role will be flexible with you completing various machining and engineering tasks. The training will take place in our academy which is based in Hockley, Birmingham. You will attend a 6 week pre-apprenticeship programme where you will spend 2 days a week in the academy gaining your level 1 Certificate in Engineering. Once you have successfully completed the Level 1 Certificate you will move onto your apprenticeship, which will require you to attend the academy 1 day a week which will be spent either in the classroom or workshop. This time will allow you to learn everything necessary in which to gain your Level 2 Diploma in Performing Engineering Operations and Diploma in Engineering and Technology. The other 4 days will be spent with the employer where you will gain valuable work based experience. Once you have successfully completed the Level 2 Apprenticeship you will be given the opportunity to progress onto our Level 3 Diploma in Performing Engineering Operations. Our client will give you support to enable you to achieve your qualifications and develop as an engineer. Good IT skills are also essential combined with a minimum of 5 GCSE's grade A - C including Maths and English or equivalent. This is open to 16-18 year olds.
