Position: Taxonomy Manager Location: London Role Type: Permanent Salary: competitive - dependent on experience, plus benefits Closing date: Tuesday 18th October 2016 About the role: The company maintains and develops the Taxonomy. Working closely with technical accounting staff, the Taxonomy team converts the presentation and disclosure requirements within the Standards and reporting practice into an Taxonomy for use in electronic reporting around the world, and They are looking to appoint a Taxonomy Manager. Reporting to the Senior Technical Manager, you will be responsible for developing changes to Taxonomy content from new and amended Standards, and by analysing company financial statements / reports from different industries and regions around the world to understand reporting practice, ensuring that changes are modelled correctly. You will also support the implementation of the taxonomy by preparing a range of documents and materials, developing proposals for consideration by the International Accounting Standards Board and the Taxonomy Consultative Group, and contributing to discussions relating to the development of the taxonomy with internal and external stakeholders from the accounting, business, investment, regulatory, standard-setting and XBRL / IT communities. About you: Experience in corporate financial reporting is essential, as is experience of assessing, defining and organising data and content, and working with data models. You will possess strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to demonstrate conceptual thinking. A good standard of written and oral English is required, with the ability to write clearly and concisely and to participate and present effectively in meetings. A strong team ethic allowing you to collaborate effectively with others, whilst also being able to work independently, is also necessary. You will need to be able to demonstrate commitment to the objectives of the IASB and to the ideals of standard-setting in the public interest.
