PR Agency - Manchester PR Account Manager £30k - £35k THE COMPANY Our client is one of the leading PR Agencies within Manchester, they are a forward thinking, content driven multi-specialist agency with a number of high-profile clients across both the consumer and B2B PR space. Due to a flurry of new business wins and internal promotions, they now seek a dedicated, driven and hands-on Account Director to come on board and manage a number of their largest accounts. THE ROLE Role - acting as support to Account Director, showing strategic thought and planning, strong contribution to new business acquisition, acting as positive role model to all members of staff, supporting and guiding junior members of staff, work with Account Director on strategic issues, liaise with media to promote the interests of clients, executing of all work within contracted hours, supporting the development of the company. Management of junior members of staff - reviewing / amending all copy before it goes to client Client meetings - attend client meetings, contribute effectively, review agendas and contact reports Account Management - working with Account Director to plan internal meetings on account progress / activity status, monitoring all editorial updates ensuring monthly reports are compiled on time, reviewing activity matrices for clients and monitoring regularly / amending, updating editorial updates, allocating timesplits and ensuring timesheets are completed accurately, supervising junior members of staff Client liaison - ensuring positive relations between all members of the team and client, ensure smooth running of the account and clear lines of communication, strengthen client relations where possible. Press liaison - dealing with media enquiries, proactively selling in stories through calls, face to face meetings, attendance at events, and regular phone / email communication, full understanding of press sectors for each client, researching angles / ideas for future releases Social media - review social media plans for clients, work with team to implement posts and react, when necessary. Proposals - drafting proposals for existing and prospective clients, allocating tasks to team members, suggesting budgets, working with Account Director / MD to complete proposals. Budgets - ensuring budgets are adhered to, monitoring time spent on client activity to avoid over-servicing, management of team's time spent on each account, ensuring expenses are charged back and fees / projects are billed every month Presentation Skills - leading presentations, supporting and providing guidance to junior members of staff General press Office - attending internal team meetings to ensure effective progress of the press office, forward planning on all clients, monitoring that junior members of staff have fulfilled tasks and that deadlines are met. Creativity - leading and participating in brainstorms to generate new ideas for both existing and prospective clients, suggest creative ideas for further development of a campaign Market Knowledge - understand the client's market, competitor activity and ensuring the team and client are aware of stories / developments. Internal relations - acting as a positive role model to junior members of staff, contributing to team meetings, suggesting ideas for new processes where appropriate, guiding junior members of staff and respond to questions. External relations - representing the agency in a positive way at networking events, taking an active role in social media activity Personal - contact improvement of own skills, industry knowledge, product information and sharing with team, identifying training courses to attend either for yourself or the team.
