A senior client facing Technical Project Manager is required to lead the implementation of a range of IT solutions for a major UK training provider. Having a strong infrastructure/networking background and the ability to engage with external stakeholders and internal IT staff, you will design innovative technical solutions to complex client requirements. You will have strong but pragmatic PM skills, and be outcomes and delivery focused working to contractual project plans and deliverables. An ideal candidate for this role would be a hands-on IT Manager or a Technical PM with skills in implementing technology in client facing roles. This is a new role with the opportunity to shape and direct the delivery of IT solutions in a training and education environment. Main Responsibilities: - Project manage technical infrastructure & systems projects to meet customer requirements - Manage cross-functional project teams ensuring clear roles, responsibilities and accountabilities - Work with customer stakeholders to prioritise projects and deliver to agreed service contracts - Lead the delivery of projects across a range of technologies and environments - Liaise with internal IT teams to define project deliverables and plans/budgets - Lead on solutions design, architecture and technical implementation - Identify, manage and escalate project risks, issues and dependencies and work with the project team to propose and implement solutions - Provide timely reporting to key project stakeholders - Ensure regular engagement with stakeholders and sponsors at all levels Skills & Experience - Very strong knowledge of a broad range of technologies including infrastructure, networking and security, - Awareness of current technology trends and standards - Experience managing technical IT projects within project guidelines and to tight timeframes with some experience of managing business systems projects - Demonstrable experience of working on complex and challenging cross business projects and teams - Previous experience working in a hands-on technical role, such as infrastructure management/support is advantageous - Excellent communication skills with experience of managing external customer relationships - Security cleared to DV is preferred, but must be prepared to work towards SC and DV clearance.
