As a result of impressive recent expansion, this thriving international business is offering a rare and exceptional career opportunity for a qualified pre & post sales technical support professional with a firm background in (ideally radio based) communication technology. The Position: Reporting to the EMEA Engineering Manager, the appointed EMEA Applications Engineer will provide pre & post installation technical support to channel partners and customers based in Europe and, primarily, the Middle East. This will involve a SIGNIFICANT element of international travel and will principally involve: Managing off-site system builds and on-site installations Developing and delivering customer specific training programmes Investigating, diagnosing and providing solutions to customer problems and/or escalating to management/engineering as required Carrying out customer acceptance testing, documenting test plans and results and recording as-built configurations Participating in pre-sales activities including assisting customers in product selection and providing technical product information to sales teams Providing weekly reports of project status, progress made and areas of concern, ensuring accurate records are maintained Participating in a 24/7/365 “On Call” support programme involving being contactable outside normal working hours for periods when on call The Candidate: Applicants for this exciting opportunity will be expected to be able to demonstrate: A thorough understanding of radio and telecommunication systems A good working knowledge of IP/Data networking Knowledge of Server 2012, SQL and Linux (CentOS) A minimum of three years’ experience of installation and technical support A high level of professionalism and autonomy Excellent interpersonal and communication skills A reliable, flexible and customer service orientated approach A full driving Licence The Company: Established for over 30 years, our client has been one of the market leaders in the design, development and implementation of mission-critical integrated communications solutions for the global public safety, transportation and utilities sectors.
