SBS is one of the UK’s leading Facilities Management specialists based in Moreton. We supply heating, electrical, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration services, maintenance and installation as well as reactive and planned building works to a number of leading names in the leisure and dining sector in the UK. We currently have an opportunity for a Procurement Manager within our Operations department based at the Moreton offices. Job Purpose As a Procurement Manager the successful candidate will ensure that all sourcing activities are carried out in an efficient manner in order to facilitate supplier’s conformity to SBS’s requirements. They will liaise with Operations, Quality and Compliance to ensure proposed new suppliers comply with the correct standards in the areas of legislative, environmental, ethical, quality, financial and delivery. Principal Duties 1. Develop and implement best practice forecasts and forecast methods, driving improvements in the company’s forecasting techniques, and be readily available to make all necessary supplier visits where appropriate. 2. Document the long term procurement strategy for each of the key areas of spend and ensure that SBS have sufficient resources in place to support the growth and business objectives. 3. Maximize value and profitability by sourcing and procuring the optimum quality products, materials and goods at the right time and at better than market value rates and manage and develop the supply base to ensure positive and long term relationships, margin enhancement, compliance to consistent quality, delivery of NPD and existence of excellent two way communication channels. 4. Ensure SLAs are set-up with all new and current key suppliers. 5. Advise, support and carry out negotiations where necessary to obtain the most favourable commercial terms. 6. Develop and maintain an inventory optimization program to ensure waste is eliminated whist maximizing availability and assume overall responsibility for the everyday purchasing function and development of the procurement team. Other • Able to demonstrate a successful track record of supplier selection and qualification. • Have significant experience of developing and implementing sourcing/procurement strategies which will deliver high performance and have significant knowledge and experience of supply chain techniques and business process improvement. • Have the ability to manage and develop a team in the achievement of high performance and success and they will have credibility to present coherent procurement intelligence to the board of Directors. • Experience of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles and have proven experience in Procurement Role. • Fully conversant with Microsoft Office and have a high level of numerical skills. • Have sound commercial aptitude and Strong negotiation and influencing skills. • Have the ability to communicate strategies and concepts simply and effectively. • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to fit into a fast paced business and work successfully cross functionally. • Good organisation and planning skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Will ideally be MCIPS qualified. • Knowledge of the supplier base for engineering products is desirable. • Will be required to travel to suppliers This job was originally posted as
