Software Engineer Nottingham £competitive Overview: Our client, a Global Information Technology company, is looking for a Software Engineer to join their team. They are looking for an intelligent and innovative Senior Software Engineer to help integrate their products and applications. You will play a contributing role in a core team responsible for the development, integration, and successful delivery. You will be highly motivated and driven with innovative ideas, solid software design experience, programming skills, and the ability to work closely with system architects, engineering groups across product verticals and other direct team members. Key Accountabilities: Data Analysis - Applies data analysis, data modelling, and quality assurance techniques, based upon a detailed understanding of business processes, to establish, modify or maintain data structures and associated components (entity descriptions, relationship descriptions, attribute definitions). Advises database designers and other application development team members on the details of data structures and associated components. Database Design - Develops and maintains specialist knowledge of database concepts, object and data modelling techniques and design principles and a detailed knowledge of database architectures, software and facilities. Analyses data requirements to establish, modify or maintain object/data models. Evaluates potential solutions, demonstrating, installing and commissioning selected products. Programming/software development - Designs, codes, tests, corrects and documents complex programs and scripts from agreed specifications, and subsequent iterations, using agreed standards and tools, to achieve a well engineered result. Takes part in reviews of own work and leads reviews of colleagues' work. Systems design - Specifies user/system interfaces, and translates logical designs into physical designs taking account of target environment, performance security requirements and existing systems. Produces detailed designs and documents all work using required standards, methods and tools, including prototyping tools where appropriate. Person Specification: Willingness to work in a matrix environment and to value the importance of teamwork. Understanding of common system architecture frameworks and concepts Technical awareness of Security and Application Software Development Excellent stakeholder management, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills Client focused approach to work Owns and is responsible for the design of the integration solution and contributes to the architecture of the integration platform. Strong knowledge of integration designs and patterns with hands-on experience of implementing integration patterns. Expert on any one of the commonly used programming language, and has ability to provide direction to the software engineer on programming skills. Expert on any one of the commercially available database (such as Oracle or MS SQL server, or DB2) Expert on both real-time and file-based integration with any one of the commercial integration software (such as TIBCO (preferable), INFORMATICA (preferable), IBM WebSphere Integration Bus, Oracle Fusion Middleware, Microsoft Biztalk Integration, MuleSoft, or any opensource integration software from Apache Foundation). Expert on XML technologies (such as XSD, XSLT, XPATH) and JSON Skilled in problem solving and analysis of integration issues. In-depth knowledge of software development lifecycle and testing methodologies. Has ability to analyse new technologies and conduct proof-of-concept with new technologies to demonstrate value to the business. Proven relevant experience in systems integration and implementation, or software development, or a related discipline Demonstrated ability to liaise and manage the expectations of multiple stakeholders. Expert in working in agile environment and have an in-depth knowledge of the SAFe agile framework and SCRUM methodologies Education: Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline (Maths, Science, Engineering, Computing, etc.) or a related study, or equivalent project-related experience.
