To safely prioritise, organise and deliver cost effective maintenance improvement activities to site assets and processes inline with annual maintenance plan and situation demands. To actively seek and implement new improvement methods. Health and Safety Adhere to all H&S, Quality, Product safety and Environmental procedures and policies relating to engineering department. Actively support development of a positive H&S culture across the site. Adhere to relevent legal and statutory regulations. Control of Contractors when required, issue of Permits to Work etc. Ensure housekeeping and hygiene standards are adhered to working to a "Clean as You Go" policy. Working in a safe manner at all times with consideration for those around you, the environment and the integrity of all raw materials and finished goods. Planned Preventative maintenance To diagnose faults and to test , repair and maintain equipment and machinery.Observe, recognise and report on machinery or component defects, symptoms of impending failure and report on condition, performance and develop plan of action for improvements. Service, adjust and repair machinery and equipment using the necessary tools in a safe and proper manner. Develop and undertake Planned and Preventative Maintenance tasks to agreed schedules. Prioritse and support reactive / breakdown repair through the site SIC process Coaching of operators with asset care tasks CMMS Systems Responsible for the effective use of the CMMS system: - accurate recording of information inc. parts movements in the stores system. - utilising CMMS historical data to identify improvement initiatives/ fault trending. - liase with Engineering Planner and Team Leader on PM schedule - develop robust and cost effective planned maintenance regime for automation equipment. Engineering Stores and Materials Use the CMMS stores system to accurately record all parts movements Ensure team compliance with current stores systems. To assess records and associated costs for repairs To raise appropriate requisition for replacement parts as required. To liase with manufacturers of specialist machinery and equipment Continuous Improvement Support the Site roadmaps for Quality / H S / EMS / Engineering / Autonomous maintenance. Use and support simple 5WHY/RCA/5s programmes. Support the department with internal / external audits Support mechanical issues and response in a timely manner to breakdown's when the maintenance team reach their limit of competence or resource (in and out of office hours). Visibly champion a culture of continuous improvement and positively influence and challenge individuals and systems that compromise our values. Evaluate performance data and deliver improvements to the efficiency and operation of production equipment and processes. Training Coaching and mentoring of maintenance team members to develop their mechanical capabilities. Produce detailed "how to" guides/one point lessons to support maintenance team with common or recurring mechanical tasks. Challenges Changing the culture to a pro active asset care best practice function. KPI,S OEE / Machine reliability / PPM Adherence / 5s score / MTTR / MTBF Knowledge and Skills Understanding of SCADA ,PLC and HMI systems (Allen-Bradley essential, Siemens and Mitsubishi desirable) Detailed knowledge of mechanical systems inc.pneumatics. Basic understanding of servo and variable speed drive systems. Competence in electrical fault finding. Experience of process plant ideally within similar FMCG environment . Proficient with Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Power point) Professional Qualifications Recognised mechanical/multi skilled apprenticeship to C&G/NVQ3 level Minimum 5 years in maintenance ONC This job was originally posted as
