Senior Network Operations Engineer / Network Engineer – CCNP / CCIE We are looking for a Network Engineer to work in a FUN fast paced and exciting environment “Asda Culture”. We are looking for an individual with previous experience in supporting an Enterprise level network infrastructure. The role is a senior role in the Operations team providing 2 nd and 3 rd line support for our UK network infrastructure, utilising the latest technologies. As well as ensuring the infrastructure is available, and performing as expected, the team is responsible for identifying, and implementing Service Improvements, in technology and processes. Key Responsibilities Capacity: Responsible for understanding, anticipating & influencing demand for services. SLAs: Responsible for delivering services within the agreed SLAs. Mentoring: Responsible for mentoring, providing guidance and development of team member’s technical skills. Reporting: Producing and presenting reports as needed, ie. reporting on performance, capacity, events, problems & incidents. Event & Alert management: Detection of events, and determining the appropriate action. Incident Management: Restore service as quickly as possible, and minimise the business impact of incidents. Life Cycle: Provide support for the full life cycle management of network devices, including IOS reviews, upgrades, replacement / decommissions. Security: To maintain system security, and implement security measures to safeguard the environment. Service Improvements: Accountable for driving change & seeking opportunities for improvement. Management of 3rd Party vendors. CCNP or CCIE accreditation. Professional Skills/experience Able to demonstrate strong strategic vision, exceptional interpersonal skills, technical communications skills, strong work ethic and positive attitude. Advance knowledge of TCP/IP, MPLS, VPN, QoS, DHCP, DNS, VOIP, traffic profiling, anomaly detection. Advance knowledge of LAN, WAN, WLAN. Configuration and administration of Firewalls, switches, routers, ACS, and load balancers. Experience of Vendor management. Experience leading change and development of mature operating practices, ie processes, policies, and standards. Demonstrate excellent problem solving, and analytical skills. Experience working in fast moving and challenging environment.
