Estimator Role 3798 EXCITING OPPORTUNITY FOR AN EXPERIENCED ESTIMATOR TO JOIN BUSY ESTABLISHED CONSTRUCTION COMPANY We are seeking an Estimator with surveying experience to join our Client’s busy team, based in Surrey. The company has a highly successful record from the sympathetic restoration of Listed Buildings to the high profile fitting out of fashion stores. Equal success has been achieved with New Build projects they focus on New Build, Refurbishment and Design & Build projects in London and the South of England up to a value of £6M. A position has arisen for a qualified estimator to work closely with the Management Team to provide an excellent service, secure work and develop their client base. Salary c£50-60,000 plus benefits dependent upon experience. Our client is a medium sized Surrey based contractor specialising in quality new build and refurbishment projects in and around London and the South. Project types and values range from traditional to D&B up to £6M pounds. Due to increased workload our client is seeking an Estimator to join their team to carry out all estimating duties including: · Taking tenders from initial enquiry to submission. · Provision of timely and accurate estimates · Analyse contract documentation and prepare accurate subcontractor packages for pricing. · Maintaining an updated cost base · Liaise and negotiate with sub-contractors and suppliers · Active participation in adjudication meetings · Requirement to carry out some surveying duties when necessary · Maintain good relationships with prospective clients and professionals to promote further tender invitations. Skills required: · Previous estimating experience of at least 5 years with a contractor in a similar role · Knowledge of building material components, building regulations, estimating (including taking off) and H&S. · Computer skills, especially Excel · Knowledge of contractual procedures and responsibilities · Good negotiation, influencing and communication skills · Well-spoken and personable · Strong analytical and reasoning abilities · Good organisation skills and attention to detail · Confident and resourceful · Evidence of maintaining a professional, consistent and fair approach · Self-motivated with ability to work alone or in a team · Organised, problem solving and VE skills as necessary · Local knowledge of suppliers and subcontractors Education college/uni – Degree/Diploma or trade trained Professional training CPD Experience Experience min 4 year post grad – Main Contractor experience A construction background with hands on site experience (physical/surveying/craftsman) New build/refurb/D&B Formal training – working with a small to medium sized contractor Located Within 1 hour of the Surrey office Has own transport and clean driving licence This job was originally posted as
