ENGIE are recruiting for a Site Duty Supervisor to be based at Mariotts and Lonsdale Schools, Brittain Way, Stevenage, Hertfordshire SG2 8UT. This is a permanent, full-time role working 37.5 hours per week on a 2 week shift pattern, covering early/late including 1 day each weekend. On offer is a salary of £20,000 per annum. This role reports directly into the Premises Manager. The Duty Supervisor is responsible for providing an effective and professional on site point of contact for Engie, offering a flexible service to Mariotts & Lonsdale Schools staff in relation to site queries or other specific requests. Main Responsibilities/Duties: Acting as Fire Marshal; responding to fire alarms. Replacing light fittings on a reactive basis or as directed by the Premises Manager. Resetting circuit breakers on domestic electrical circuits. General plumbing duties (fitting/repairing radiator valves, unblocking drains using rods/hand-operated jetting equipment; repairing leaks on WC drain joints, etc. General carpentry duties (fitting door handles, locks, re-hanging doors, repairing skirting and floor boards, etc). General decorating duties (minor touching-up of ceilings, wall and door finishes). L8 Water Management. Maintaining hot and cold water systems as per recommended guidelines and frequencies in ACOP L8 Water Management Regulations. Liaising closely with the Helpdesk (self reporting jobs / closing jobs, reporting incidents, etc). Being responsible for supervising a small team. Completing PPM schedule. Undertaking routine daily checks including, but not limited to, checking fuel/energy/water meters; salt and chemical levels in treatment units; hydropool; completing site daily checklist; ensuring minibus duties carried out; ensuring access for emergency vehicles, site inductions; completing Permit to Work access, Daily 3G pitch checks, etc. Undertaking routine weekly checks including, but not limited to, testing fire alarm detectors, manual call points, fire doors; testing sprinkler system; visual inspection of fire extinguishers, fire doors, Health & Safety signage; completing weekly grounds checklist; completing first aid checks within school; carrying out weekly 3G pitch sweeping/raking. Undertaking administrative tasks including, but not limited to, twice weekly inspections of all areas' completion of inspection log and requisition forms for defects; reporting to Helpdesk any outstanding tasks and any damage; ensuring building logs are updated when new parts and components are installed and when new certificates issued, maintaining records of stocks of consumables; ensuring visits from contractors/sub-contractors are recorded and escorting such visitors whilst they are on site, etc. Following the Building's procedures regarding access to occupied rooms, reporting any problems to Premises Manager. To develop strong professional relationships with customers, sub-contractors and Engie service teams. To provide excellent customer service. To provide cover for the Premises Manager during absence. Ability to monitor contractors on site, ensuring they are working within their RAMS. To demonstrate a flexible attitude by undertaking any ad hoc tasks considered reasonable by the Facilities Manager or Premises Manager. To demonstrate a flexible approach to hours/schedules to ensure schools are adequately manned at required times. To adhere to the Company dress code at all times. Qualifications Experience in a customer facing role. Good reading and writing skills. Basic numeracy skills. Basic computer literacy, or willingness to train as required. Good knowledge of fire procedures. Good knowledge of security (locking/unlocking buildings). Good knowledge of water systems. Good knowledge of heating maintenance. Ability to abide by and promote good Health and Safety practices in the workplace. Ability to review RAMS. Ability to plan and prioritise own work and manage own time effectively. Ability to manage a varied workload whilst ensuring attention to detail. Ability to organise other team members and their workloads. Excellent communication skills at all levels. Flexibility to cover sickness, annual leave when required. Ideally trained for hydropool maintenance. Ideally qualified in First Aid. Please note, an enhanced DBS is required for this role.
