A lot of lives depend on the systems we maintain and deliver. So they need to work – even if something goes wrong. Through incredibly intricate system design, we work to ensure that life-critical systems stay safe, no matter what happens. And on this programme, you’ll learn how we do it. Where you can join us You can find out more about the areas of our business offering places on the Safety Engineering programme for autumn 2017 on our website. But no matter which team you join, you could be based anywhere in the UK. That’s why we ask all our graduates to be flexible and willing to move during their programme. What you'll be doing You’ve got to get your head around a lot of different factors to spot where the weaknesses might lie. So you’ll be learning about everything from production and manufacturing, to project management, design and safety. You'll also be part of a multidisciplinary team that includes Health Physicists, Engineers and Human Factors specialists working together to ensure that our operations remain safe. You may be working on projects within the commercial marine sector or refits for submarines or warships for the Royal Navy. You’ll train to become a Safety Engineer, helping us identify and control any possible threats to our people and the environment. What you'll get out of it When you’re playing such an important role, you need great support to develop. And that’s what you’re going to get. You’ll be assigned a mentor who’ll help you achieve professional status. And you’ll be starting on a competitive salary. Applications for this programme are currently open. To avoid disappointment we recommend that you apply sooner rather than later as we work on a rolling basis and where we experience large volumes of applications, we will close the role early.
