Engineering Apprentice CAD Role. This company offers a comprehensive range of flashing and fabrications to the construction industry. They have a state of the art manufacturing facility including CNC machines, TIG and MIG welding and bespoke fabrication area. This is a CAD Technician role which will use design systems to create plans and parts for buildings. What is the company looking for? An interest in engineering and design. Able to use own initiative. Keen to learn new skills. Good Maths and English grades. Basic knowledge of CAD (all training to be provided) Strong numeracy and IT Skills. The ability to problem solve. The training will take place in our new academy which is based in Hockley, Birmingham. You will attend a 6 week pre-apprenticeship programme where you will spend 2 days a week in the academy gaining your level 1 Certificate in Engineering. Once you have successfully completed the Level 1 Certificate you will move onto your apprenticeship, which will require you to attend the academy 1 day a week which will be spent either in the classroom or workshop. This time will allow you to learn everything necessary in which to gain your Level 2 Diploma in Performing Engineering operations and Diploma in Engineering and Technology. The other 4 days will be spent with the employer where you will gain valuable work based experience. Once you have successfully completed the Level 2 Apprenticeship you will be given the opportunity to progress onto our Level 3 Diploma in Performing Engineering Operations. The successful candidate must have a flexible, enthusiastic attitude with good team working ability. The ability to follow instruction and self-motivation is also a pre requisite. Good IT skills are also essential combined with a minimum of 5 GCSE's grade A - C including Maths and English or equivalent. This is open to 16-18 year olds.
