About the Role: We’re seeking an experienced Commissioning Support Engineer who is responsible for delivering small disinfection projects and supporting the Project Manager in the delivery of larger disinfection projects. You will also be undertaking tasks such as; technical input to projects from feasibility through to detailed design, construction, testing, commissioning and handover. A key aspect of this role is commissioning, including working with the contractor, wholesale operations and network control. Furthermore, you will develop and deliver detailed commissioning methodologies and drive continuous improvements. The successful candidate will have experience in delivering the appropriate key deliverables for any projects undertaken, and be responsible for the financial managements of these projects, including monitoring of progress, tactical risk management, improvement processes and accuracy of financial forecasting and budgeting. Finally, ensuring rapid response to any incidents when they occur and identifying the root-cause as well as implementing actions to prevent re-occurrence is a key element to this position. About You: With experience in either disinfection/commissioning activities and water engineering technical skills, the successful candidate will also have an understanding of network control, with the ability to demonstrate successful examples of system integration. Financial risk management and analytical skills are key to being successful for this position, with some knowledge of the regulatory regime and accounting practices relevant to the capital programme being desirable. In order to succeed in this position it is vital that you have the ability to tackle issues, responding positively to challenges from others, as well as looking ahead to anticipate problems and develop plans to overcome potential obstacles. It is also expected that you will have a good ability to effectively engage with others and get their input to ensure the best outcome for Severn Trent Water.
