Mechanical Design Engineer (Solidworks – Sheet Metal Fabrication) Carlisle £28,000 - £35,000 Pension Benefits Mechanical Design Engineer required by a small but secure and stable company that manufacture bespoke sheet metal based fabricated products. To apply for this role you will need experience of 3D 2D design in Solidworks coupled with previous experience in sheet metal /sheet fabrication design. You will also need knowledge of basic calculations using any software or methodology. You will spend around 80% of your time on concept designs and around 20% of your time on re-modification whilst being predominantly office based. However, you will also carry out occasional client visits to understand the needs of the client and may even involve overseeing installation at the completion of projects. Day to day you will be the main point of contact for the client and will be responsible for understanding their needs. This will involve creating concept ideas, creating modelling/assembly drawings, creating drawings for parts and in some cases may include ordering parts from suppliers before handing over to production. This position will give you a chance to join a company where you will be an important part in the business. The company have recently reinvested in their offices refurbishing the interior and exterior as well as purchasing new machinery and top of the range computers.
