ROLE: SERVICE MANAGER INDUSTRY: PLASTIC ANCILLARY EQUIPMENT & SERVICES LOCATION: MIDLANDS SALARY: COMPETITIVE SALARY BASED ON EXPERIENCE BONUS CAR 25 DAYS HOLIDAY & PENSION THE COMPANY Our client is a market leading provider and installer of a of plastics ancillary equipment for material storage including conveying, blending, colouring, drying, magnetic tool clamping, parts conveying, sprue separation and granulation including hopper loaders, material feed systems, material dryers, gravimetric blenders, gravimetric dosers, belt conveyors, magnetic platens, robots, sprue pickers. The business have gone from strength to strength in recent years with there owner entering into the PRW most important 100 people in the plastics industry. Due to continued growth an exciting position has become available to recruit a Service Manager to lead the service department and maintain the high level 24 hour service standards which set them apart from there competition THE ROLE: · Reporting into the Engineering manager it is your role to act as a second line of support out of hours when the on call engineer needs support · Liaise, direct and lead daily support between on-site engineers, customers, suppliers and in house technical team. · Respond to project managers requests for resource and give instruction/guidance to scheduler to schedule engineers. · Effectively communicate with scheduler and other parties to move resource/engineers from active projects to support customer breakdowns. · Construct weekly reports in partnership with technical team to advise suppliers and customers on solutions to problems with old and new equipment. · Visible felt leadership on site with engineers on a monthly basis as part of formal or informal audits. · Support sales team and customer service manager when presenting service contracts to new and existing customers. · Must be direct in approach, clear in communication and naturally seek to improve internal systems and processes to achieve maximum productivity. THE CANDIDATE: · Experienced manager or the ability to step up into a role that will lead a team of 5 service engineers and 15 contractors. · Able to multi task, solve problems under pressure in an organised and methodical manner. · Demonstrate an understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic circuits and controls and an in depth understanding of electrical controls and PLC’s. · Proactive excellent communicator who wants to achieve the best for the client, the company and himself · Conveying, mechanical handling or plastics background is desirable but not essential. · A track record of leading continuous improvement.
