Role: Service Manager (Therapeutic Domestic and Sexual Abuse Service) Based: Greater Manchester Rate: £17 - 21 ph (dependent on experience) Length: 3 - 6 months (possible extension) Hours: 30 hours Start date: October 2016 Our client, a respected national charity who specialise in working with the UK's most complex and vulnerable children and young people, are looking for an experienced Service Manager to oversee their Greater Manchester service. The successful candidate will be working for a large national charity who works tirelessly to transform the lives of some of the UK's most vulnerable children. They provide innovative and high quality child focused programmes which they are constantly striving to develop and improve. You will be managing their specialist emotional health and well-being service which provides therapeutic support to children affected by domestic or sexual abuse. You will be line managing 5 Project Workers and 4 sessional workers and a Project Manager (with indirect responsibility for an additional 3 Specialist Domestic Violence Case Workers). You will be managing a well established team and will have a strong support network for within the department and from Senior Management. You will be responsible for all aspects of operational management including 121s, supervisions and appraisals, recruitment and retention and training and development. You will be responsible for the performance management of the service and for ensuring that it meets contractual specifications and organisation policies and strategic direction. You will be acting as the external face for the organisation in Greater Manchester and as such will hold overall responsibility for all commissioner contact and partnership development this includes overseeing joint/ multi-agency working arrangements. They are looking for a strong operational manager who has experience of managing social care/ work, supported housing and/ or therapeutic services.
