Job Description: 2 nd and 3 rd Line Network and Windows Engineer Location: Based in Newcastle upon Tyne. Occasional site travel and visits to Scotland required Salary: £30,000 (negotiable dependent on experience), Plus car allowance Hours of work: 8:30 – 5:00 pm (out of hours work will required occasionally) General Description: Due to continued expansion, an excellent opportunity has arisen for a Second Line Support Network and Windows Engineer to join their UK based technical support team. Primarily based at our Newcastle office you will be providing remote & onsite technical support to a range of clients. We service clients in various sectors from Finance, Creative/Media/Print and Education. We have to maintain an extremely high standard of customer satisfaction on a daily basis, by providing solutions and support enabling their business to operate effectively. We request that the candidate is highly motivated, able to work unsupervised when needed, be able to work under pressure while maintaining a professional and positive attitude throughout. Experience of working in a help desk environment or running a support department is key. As the role will mean client visits for support and installations, experience with dealing with customers face to face is advantageous. The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge on leading networking solutions such as design and deploying of network environments. Successful interview candidates will be required to demonstrate the required skills and experience via practical and theory based tests. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities: 1. Supporting both 1st / 2nd line engineers to resolve technical support issues 2. Working closely with the sales team to design and implement network technologies 3. Keeping clients updated regularly with excellent communication skills 4. Documenting client infrastructure in a clear and precise format 5. Constantly updating of skill sets in line with the ever changing technologies we support Skills and Experience: 1. Networking configuration and support of Firewalls, WiFi, Switches inc. VLAN, UTM, Proxy & VPN and SAN setup 2. Experience of solutions such as Juniper, FortiNet, CISCO 3. Server Support of Microsoft 2008/2012 including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP & Group Policy 4. Desktop Support of Microsoft Windows Server, OSX and iOS Experience desirable 5. Knowledge of virtualisation platforms (vSphere, Hyper-V and associated hardware) This job was originally posted as
