We currently have an opportunity in our Standards department in Chiswick, West London. About the Role: BSI’s Standards Policy team is responsible for policy and engagement to support BSI's role as the UK's National Standards Body. It manages the interface with the European and International standards bodies (including CEN-CENELEC, ISO and IEC) builds relations with other standards development organizations around the world and is responsible for the relationship with key stakeholders in the UK, including UK Government, trade associations, professional bodies, consumers, colleges and universities. About the role: Engagement with its expert committee members is critical to the future of standards making and the sustainable growth of BSI as the UK’s National Standards Body. The Standards-Makers Development and Engagement Manager joined BSI in 2015 to develop our relationships with committee members by improving our knowledge, recognition, communications and engagement events. This engagement has been extended to include the bodies that nominate members to committees. These include trade associations, government departments and professional bodies. Communication between BSI and these nominating bodies, as well as communication between the committee members and their nominating bodies, is essential to ensure that standards meet the needs of their end users. This new position has been created to help BSI increase engagement with individuals and organizations that contribute to the standards making process. As the programme continues to grow and develop it will expand to include engagement with key industry stakeholders About You: About you: Engage and build relationships with diverse groups of key stakeholders Develop and support communications with stakeholder groups, internally and externally Develop and deliver engagement initiatives such as events and recognition schemes Gathering, monitoring and responding to stakeholder feedback Able to provide data analysis and reporting Able to work across multiple / diverse internal stakeholder groups or teams / departments Comfortable working with IT and new technology Desired Experience working with stakeholders who are technical subject-matter experts Working with volunteers and/or members, including recruitment and retention activities Experience developing and/or administering volunteer / membership management procedures Experience developing data reporting tools, creating reports Personal attributes Strong interpersonal skills - to be able to engage confidently with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, to include technical subject-matter experts. Strong communication skills - to be able to listen to and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
