Technical Writer - London Your Challenge To work closely with our product management and development teams to communicate the functionality of our software in the most concise, consistent, easy to understand and accurate way possible. You’ll ideally have experience working in a SaaS, cloud or API environment, and will need to gain a deep understanding of what our software does and how people use it. You’ll hold a degree in Technical Writing, English, Instructional Design, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, along with 5 years relevant experience writing documentation for complex software Your Role You’ll work closely with the product and client service teams, to write concise and accurate documentation for software that has a high level of complexity. · You’ll need to ensure consistency and accuracy across all product documentation · You’ll work with product management and client services teams to deliver release documentation · You’ll be responsible for the ongoing management of documentation to ensure content is accurate and up to date · You’ll edit or standardise material prepared by subject matter experts · You’ll create reference material and conceptual content based around user goals and tasks · Take screen captures and create diagrams and charts to illustrate material · Create videos, knowledge base articles and FAQs Your Essential skills You’ll need to be able to demonstrate: · Highly developed communication skills in English, both written and verbal · An ability to produce videos using tools such as Captivate or Camtasia · An ability to write in and adapt to various writing styles and formats · An ability to multitask, prioritise and learn quickly · An ability to take on moderate level of complex work with minimal direction by management or senior level team members · Your experience of working in an agile, fast-paced environment Desirable skills · Experience writing about SaaS or cloud applications and/or APIs · Proficiency with graphics and/or photo-editing software · Experience using a bug or issue tracking system · Understanding of how to write localised content · Experience developing content in a wiki environment Abous Us HighQ provides innovative cloud-based file sharing and social collaboration software to large international clients in the legal, banking and corporate sectors.
