Demob Job Reference: J2675 Job Title: Field Service Technician Location: Swindon/Newbury/Reading Salary: £22,500 benefits Start Date: Immediate Introduction: Our client is a leading provider of parking and transport management solutions across the UK and overseas. They offer a variety of products to their customers from pay & display through to operational services and support. The successful candidate will be responsible for the service, maintenance and installation of company products. Please note that this role is based around Swindon/Newbury/Reading, therefore you must live within commuting distance. The role will involve local and some UK travel. Full training will be provided for the right candidate. This presents itself as an ideal opportunity to join an established company and, although not essential, could be well suited for a person who has previously served in the Armed Forces i.e. Army (REME/Electronics), Royal Navy (Marine Engineer or Weapons Engineer) or Royal Air Force/RAF (Avionics/Electrical Technician). Candidates wishing to apply must hold a relevant Electrical/Electronic Engineering qualification and have basic mechanical skills. Responsibilities: - Carry out on-site preventative maintenance and reactive repairs to ticketing equipment to defined standards. - Deal with basic PC related problems and set up PC for system operation. - Contribute to a service minded and client oriented approach focused upon the end users satisfaction. - Conduct yourself and promote the company in a professional manner at all times - Communicate with all levels of staff both verbally and written, Escalating of all major issues to the management team as appropriate. - Be able to complete all documents on time, to agreed company standards. - Responsible for and keep all company stock and equipment on good order, liaise with the stores department to ensure that the allocation of spare parts is of a satisfactory level. - Assist with the implementation of new equipment or the upgrade of existing equipment as required. Occasional installation work is also a feature of the post. - Organisation of the response calls to ensure that defined targets of response are achieved. Applicant Requirements: - It is envisaged that the successful candidate will have a strong electrical/electronic engineering background and will hold a relevant electrical qualification i.e. NVQ Level 2 or equivalent. - Ability to read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams. - Experience of working with electrical circuits. - Sound mechanical engineering knowledge. - Excellent customer service skills. - Sound communicator. - Team player. - Self-motivated, able to work using own initiative. - Enjoy problem solving. - Able to work and remain calm under pressure. - Hold full clean driving licence.
