The pub is well known to locals and visitors to the area and has just gained the coveted title Country Pub of the Year 2016 This is due to not only the great staff that is employed there but the atmosphere, the service, the local ales and ciders and of course - the food. As Sous Chef your job will be highly demanding and you will take on a great amount of responsibility in both culinary and managerial situations. In the absence of the Head Chef you will run the kitchen and no day will be the same. The pub prides itself on delicious pub grub and traditional English favourites and sources all its produce from local grown providers. It is vital you understand the importance of Homemade, traditional dishes as the Head Chef champions local produce and cooking from fresh ingredients. You will be passionate and enthusiastic with a desire to produce high levels of service and great food You must have excellent time management and the ability to work well under pressure - the kitchen is no easy place to work but the right kitchen for the right Chef can be a little slice of heaven Being organised and flexible with the hours is a MUST. Have previous experience in a similar role - As a chef you will be aware that the job at hand can be everything from stressful, demanding and manic to rewarding and satisfying.
