We are now recruiting for a multi skilled Shift Engineer to work at our Oswestry site which operates 24 hours a day 7 days per week. The successful candidate will work on a 3 shifts on 3 shifts off rota pattern (to include days and nights), reporting into the Lead Engineer, and will be a key member of the team responsible for ensuring that the daily production plan and maximum plant performance is achieved. Responsibilities The role will involve carrying out breakdown repairs and making continuous improvements by identifying and minimising root cause issues, undertaking planned preventive maintenance and conducting safety checks and raising any safety concerns appropriately. You will promote and maintain performance, behavioural, health and safety, environmental and quality standards and will ensure all relevant shift documentation, including Planned Preventative Maintenance, shift logs, handover documents, food safety hand-back sheets, timesheets and stores records are updated and consistent. Skills We would welcome applications from candidates who are multi-skilled in both electrical and mechanical principles, preferably with a previous background of maintaining equipment within a food packaging or fast paced packaging environment. You will have excellent time management skills and will be able to make quick decisions, resolve issues and implement corrective actions. In addition, you will have a good knowledge and understanding of health and safety requirements and the drive and ambition to develop and improve site performance standards. A ONC (or equivalent) in electrical\mechanical principles and an understanding of thermo formers, flow wrappers, check weighers, metal detectors and robotic case packing equipment together with cheese cutting machines would be an advantage but is not essential.
