The Company A leading global FMCG is looking for a Transport Manager. Following a recent acquisition you will be joining the business at an exciting period of change. The Role You will be responsible for the day to day running of the Transport Operation which is a combination of own vehicles and sub-contractors, some of which operate from satellite depots. Leading and motivating the transport team ensuring full legal compliance in line with all areas of the Transport Legislation and Health & Safety. You must be able to manage and maintain a cost effective operation driving cost effectiveness whilst maintaining high levels of customer service. Duties: Responsible for getting the right products in the right quantities, to the right locations all at the right time. In charge of the day to day operations of the transport department. Efficiently managing a team of drivers and vehicles. Responsible for all of the dispatching, routing, and tracking of delivery vehicles. Ensuring company compliance of all transport policies, legislation and procedures Ensure all KPI’s are met consistently to meet the customer’s expectations. Identifying operational issues, potential problems and opportunities. Resolving and managing queries and complaints courteously and efficiently. Appraising staff performance and also taking disciplinary measures when required. Ensuring all site and customer objectives are achieved. To lead a robust and efficient peak planning process with effective delivery. The Applicant CPC is essential, ideally within the FMCG or Drinks industry. Able to operate effectively in a high volume service driven transport operation. Experience of Budgets and Financial controls. Knowledgeable in all process compliance areas including; Legislative, Productivity, Quality and Service. Comprehensive understanding all of areas of the supply chain.
