I am working with a fantastic Client who are looking for an Freight Operations Supervisor based in Rugby to join an expanding team. This is a very exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join a great team. The Role The successful candidate will join a small focused team where they will deal with all aspects of forwarding and become an active leader of the operation Liaise directly with carrier and customers on shipment planning and coordination Engage with dedicated customer on daily basis ensuring goods move as planned. Complete ad-hoc freight procurement Handle international documentation such as; Bill of Lading, Letters of Credit & Bills of Exchange Advise on or complete customs clearance Investigate customer queries and concerns Liaise directly with carriers and agents to resolve exceptions and discrepancies as they arise Ensure adherence to set KPI's Day to day carrier management Any other duties as required Handling all aspects of international freight movements on an Export level Taking responsibility for monitoring progress and keeping the customer advised of the status. The Candidate Personal Specification: Required 3 years' experience within the Freight Forwarding Industry Very good understanding of day to day OCEAN FREIGHT operations Ability to manage multiple activities and projects and perform under pressure Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills, knowledge of sector trends, customers and service needs Export attention to detail Clear understanding of the principles of global supply chains and logistics operations Practical and procedural knowledge of international documentation Commercial awareness of the market as a whole Clear and concise communication skills (written and spoken) Able to work on own initiative and to take responsibility and ownership of situations and decisions Ability to support a culture of continuous improvement Inter-personal skills - Influencing, communication, relationship management, cultural awareness and ability to work across teams Desirable Experience of customs procedures Held supervisory or management role US import process and procedures Experience of UK/EU road freight Knowledge of LCL shipments, Airfreight and Imports Knowledge of the agricultural or food ingredients industry In order to apply for this position you MUST HAVE OCEAN FREIGHT EXPERIENCE and EXPORT EXPERIENCE WITHIN THE INDUSTRY.
