Working on a busy site, managing SHEQ requirements for all staff, developing a SHEQ strategy and shaping the whole health and safety function on site. Encouraging a culture of health and safety across all departments and within all staff, this role is hands-on and is well suited to someone who interacts well with all staff at all levels and leads from the front. Experience in a busy and fast paced distribution/logistics./manufacturing role is essential. • Championing a culture of continuous improvement throughout the business, interacting with and influencing staff at all levels • Improve Health & Safety and quality management systems standards across the entire site • Ensure strict compliance with ISO standards at all times • Improve environmental and sustainability standards • Deliver strategic plans for SHEQ performance • Delivering safety training • Devising every day, quarterly and annual SHEQ aims and objectives • Keeping up to date with legislative changes and making necessary amendments to policy • Promoting the SHEQ strategy to drive a tangible improvement in safety performance and culture • To support line management in delivering SHEQ objectives • Ensuring that good practice in SHEQ is adhered to by all line-management and staff and is regularly reviewed • Day to day management of SHEQ training requirements including accident reduction strategies and statistical analysis • Provide support for all SHEQ and Food Safety processes and modification and delivery of relevant action plans • Assisting in or leading (as required) the investigation and management of incidents (including major incidents) and providing advice on root causation • Ensure that the site safety management system is fit for purpose through mentoring and system/site audits • Maintain up to date knowledge of corporate, regulatory and legislative changes and advise management of the implications for the business The successful candidate will be NEBOSH diploma qualified or equivalent and experience of environmental and quality management would be preferable. You will possess the interpersonal skills, integrity and commercial awareness to maintain excellent working relationships and will have effective presentation and training skills with the ability to translate technical info and legislation into everyday language.
