Techconsult are assisting with the recruitment of an experienced Electrical and Instrument Engineer to ensure the maximum plant availability by improving the long term reliability strategy of plant equipment. A major part of this role is ensuring the safe and reliable operation of E&I equipment and systems, and guaranteeing compliance with all relevant safety and environmental legislation. Responsibilities: Responsible for providing cost effective engineering expertise to safely achieve production targets Take an active role in trouble shooting and problem solving activities Carry out regular Preventive Maintenance reviews of instrument and electrical systems Keep up to date with latest technologies and reliability improvement techniques Write, review and approve appropriate site procedures, standards and routines Be familiar with the plant processes and the interface with instrument and electrical equipment Provide support in the evaluation, development and implementation of high voltage modifications Provide engineering support to other Plant Areas To provide support with the issuing of High Voltage (HV) and Sanction To Test (STT) permits to work To support the work of the site reliability team and proactively work to improve the reliability and performance of plant equipment and authorise repairs To contribute to SIL assessments and be actively involved in the management and maintenance of Safety Instrumented Systems Experience & Qualifications: Degree or equivalent in relevant discipline Chartered or working towards Chartership Proven experience in the Chemical, Oil and Gas or other related industry supporting process plant instrument and electrical systems, preferably within a high hazard environment, including risk assessment, HAZOP studies, etc. HV Senior Authorised Person experience would be highly Advantageous, however this is not essential Knowledge, both technical and practical, in the design, selection, installation and maintenance of instrument and electrical systems to engineering standards Understanding of Hazard and Operability techniques Personal Qualities: Structured, systematic and target driven Ability to work under pressure and to communicate well at all levels Ability to support multi-discipline teams An eye for detail and desire to make improvements for the benefit of the company High ethical awareness and integrity This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/66752619
