We are recruiting in our Severnside Gloucester Depot for a Team Shift Manager to oversee the operations of a busy, high volume cold store, ensuring that all cold stores KPI's are met and on a shift by shift basis - ensure health and safety and all other protocols are adhered to. Key Responsibilities: Primary Function To ensure all orders are picked accurately All orders are dispatched according to allocated time schedules Ensure stock and stock wastage are managed according to WMS processes This is a highly challenging position that involves management of the Cold store function, ensuring and promoting maximum productivity and effective management of resources and to be accountable for improvements and adherence to all operating processes Support and have a good understanding in relation to - IT operating systems (WMS) Ensure full compliance to WMS process. Fundamental will be the timely intervention and resolution to related operational issues which will include resource management and service compliance Develop a "Can Do" attitude and promote a strong functional team that reacts to daily demand variances in a timely and safe manner. Must demonstrate a passion for excellence to customer service within our enviable client base Key activities will be to lead and direct the cold store function - to include - Picking, Loading, stock control and dispatch functions Key to the success of this role - will be the cultural development of putting service and efficiency at the heart of the operation, whilst engaging and developing our people which are key deliverables of this role. The post holder will have to demonstrate experience of managing & developing teams in an operational environment together with successfully managing change and to promote excellent people development skills Personal attributes to include, excellent organizational skills and a focus on delivering results, a pragmatic and developmental management style, a flexible tenacious approach, and the ability to communicate effectively, with credibility and at all levels of an organisation Skills, Knowledge and Experience:? Essential Proven managerial and leadership success within a similar warehouse environment Experience in managing high volume throughput and operational teams of (30 at present, mix Internal/Agency) Demonstrate good site/external stakeholder engagement Responsibilities for recruitment selection/induction, training and team development, to include regular 1-1's and PDR appraisals A proactive and forward thinking approach Understanding of inbound/outbound processes within the cold store Financial understanding and experience of managing departmental budgets Experience of making process improvements and best practice recommendations to include implementation Analytical ability with experience of forecasting, monitoring and reporting on cold store KPI's Desirable - Valid MHE licence Good understanding of Health and Safety Legislation, this role will actively support best practice - ensuring full Health and Safety Compliance A good understanding of key policy's - Disciplinary, Accident Investigation, Return to Work and related policy's /processes Ability to analyse, measure and validate WMS and related data. Enthusiastic, committed and able to respond positively within a fast paced work environment. Experienced in relevant IT systems and must demonstrate a good command of MS (Excel, Word) Clear understanding of the business and Supply Chain objectives/principals Experienced in coaching, mentoring and development of team members ? Fulfill all actions as indicated within the nature and scope of the role ? Understand and support manual systems in the event of any system failure ? Must ensure the Work Environment meets Company Quality and Hygiene Standards and at all times ? Ensure order pick accuracy and order satisfaction are completed according to all SLA`s ? Manage Stock, stock Wastage and related issue resolution ? Investigate personnel accidents/operational incidents, complete paperwork accurately and follow up accidents/incidents with appropriate actions - and must escalate resolve accordingly ? Carry out regular internal audits in order to ensure hygiene, cleanliness and safety standards are maintained Establish and maintain procedures for operative's safety and ensure identification and implementation of Health and Safety best practice. Stand in for Cold Store Manager according to business demand. Carry out team briefs in order to feedback appropriate business information/performance. Manage performance and disciplinary investigations, interviews and actions as appropriate. Plan and agree daily (shift) workload and allocate correct level of resource Identify and ensure training and development plans are in place for all employees and review accordingly Liaise with engineering/related services to ensure equipment and location is kept and maintained to a serviceable standard Maintain records for employee's time and attendance monitor and manage absence levels taking the appropriate action Ensure Operating Rota's are maintained and communicated.
