The Company An opportunity has arisen for a Purchasing Administrator to work for a leading manufacturing company based in the Darlington area. This is an exciting opportunity with a global company. The Role Comparison of quotes to determine most cost effective suppliers/carriers Raise purchase orders as required and send to supplier Ordering all shop floor and office consumables, stationery, office furniture, workwear, etc. Monitoring stock levels in several warehouse locations Liaise with warehouse regarding deliveries/stocks Arrange collection of goods from ex-works suppliers Transport accruals Inform Customer Service Dept. / Warehouse appointed carrier for booking purposes and shipping costs Raise enquiries for engineering items, receive and compare quotes Maintain supplier price lists Input new items in SAGE Traded Goods orders input, liaise with suppliers and Customer Service Dept. Receive and verify order acknowledgements and update on SAGE Progress orders and deliveries Archive of PO’s Extensive use of Microsoft Excel General administration as required The Person Strong administration skills Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate throughout all levels of the business Purchasing experience within a fast moving organisation is preferred Possess good negotiation skills Be actively involved in training as required in order to fulfil role This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/66751374
